To my surprise, the screens are all flashing brightly, as if they had just been turned on for the first time. I push the old rotten chair aside and stand at the terminal, gripping the cold grimy console. All emotion leaves me, the screens contents being seared into my mind. The most spectacular display of beauty combined with the ultimate annihilation of all existence plays out before me, as if some sort of sick simulation, for my eyes only.

It's... breathtaking.

The old temple walls shake as I realize the inevitable. The screens lay dark. I gather myself and begin to look around me.

The temple is suddenly falling apart, as if it was waiting for me to see it one last time. Dust and stone scatter as the sprawling roots of plant life loosen their grip on the structure. Pieces of the temple lay strewn about as I make my way back to the entrance, back to my ship. As I begin to lift off, I smile softly, happy that the universe allowed me this.
