The accident caused by the space crystal forced the tour to end prematurely and head back to earth, much to the dismay of the child. But it was so fascinating to have seen the same exact crystal object fly through the window. It was picked up by a worker onboard before the child could take it. But it was burned into the child's mind. It would go on to persist as a thought even years after the initial voyage. Thoughts of the rift, the gate, the crystal... always on their mind.
